Physocarpus opulifolius
Large shrub with showy white flowers in May or June and attractive exfoliating bark in winter. Flowers attract butterflies and bees, and the branches provide excellent cover for birds. Grows to 8-10’ tall although can be cut back in winter if a smaller size is preferred. Native to NE Oklahoma. Medium to dry soil, sun to partial shade.
