An easy-to-grow herb native to Central & South America. Self-seeds enthusiastically. My friend Victorina, from Guatemala, adds it to black beans before she starts cooking them, and hers are the best black beans ever! Two sprigs per pots are said to aid in digestion and to effectively combat flatulence from beans. Strong flavor, use the leaves, fresh or dried, sparingly.
