Cephalanthus occidentalis

A showy, deciduous shrub growing 6-12’ tall and named for the small, round, white flowers which bloom all summer and attract many different types of bees and butterflies. Often found in swamps and around ponds and streams. Can tolerate flooding and shallow standing water for brief periods. Does not do well in dry soils. Full sun to partial shade, medium to wet soils.
