A word about brussels sprouts… They are not the easiest crop to grow in Oklahoma. Brussels sprouts need a long, cool growing season; 3 to 4 months at least from transplant to harvest. That’s much longer than broccoli or cauliflower. I have grown them successfully, but only when all my ducks lined up in a row. My best luck has been with planting in late summer and harvesting in December or January. Brussels sprouts are quite cold-hardy and can handle moderate freezes, especially if you toss a row cover over them at night. Here’s a great article that digs down into the details 🙂
