Chilopsis linearis
3” re-used plastic pot
This small but showy tree is known for its large, fragrant flowers in pink, white or purple with darker streaks inside the throat. Attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies and birds.
Native to the southwest U.S., it also grows well in central and western Oklahoma. Blooms in early summer and oftentimes after it rains. Although not a willow, its leaves are narrow and willow-like. Drought tolerant, thrives in hot, dry climates. Dry, well-drained soil, full sun, grows 15-25’ high.
