Malvaviscus arboreus var drummondii

Spreading shrub with showy, bright red flowers, thrives in sun to part shade. Flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies and bees. Native to southeast and southcentral US. Blooms during the heat of summer into early fall. Can be pruned back after a couple years to keep it at a desirable size. Perennial in zones 7-10. Grows 2-6’ tall.
