(Sporobolus heterolepis) is an attractive prairie grass with fine-textured leaves that form an arching foliage mound. Flower panicles on slender stems rise above the foliage clump in late summer. Prairie Dropseed is of special value as a nesting site for native bees. Perennial, grows 2-3’ tall, medium to dry soil, full sun.
