Physostegia virginiana

A resilient perennial native to eastern Oklahoma, with pink or white flowers. Obedient Plant is so named because the flower stems will temporarily stay in whichever direction you bend them. Spreads by rhizomes and grows enthusiastically, making it a good choice for filling in large plots. Easy to grow, tolerates clay soil, and the flowers are quite showy. Full sun, wet to medium soil, 1-2’ height, 1’ spacing, blooms summer thru fall and is a very good nectar source for pollinators.
