Description

An essential herb in Asian recipes, the leaves and stems of lemon grass can be used fresh or dried to provide a delightful lemon flavor. Lemongrass also makes a wonderful tea. The plants are ornamental, with long, lemon-scented leaves growing from a central base and arching downward at their tips. Lemongrass usually winter kills here in central Oklahoma, although I’ve had clumps that overwintered some years. If grown in pots, lemongrass can be brought indoors during winter. Grows 3-4’ high, 2-3’ wide, prefers full sun.

Medicinal: Tea used to treat digestive problems and fever. Anti-inflammatory.
