Scrophularia marilandica

Excellent nectar source for attracting native butterflies, bees and birds, including hummingbirds. Tall plants reach 6-9 feet tall, with an open, airy growth habit. Small reddish-brown flowers bloom in late summer to early fall. Figworts are given a special rating by the Xerces Society as being of special value to native bees. AKA Maryland Figwort. Plant 2-3’ apart, medium to dry soil, partial sun.
