(Bouteloua gracilis) – often used as a native lawn grass, sometimes mixed with Buffalo Grass. Grows 6-12” high if not mowed, with long, narrow seed heads that extend horizontally from the stems. A dominant grass in dry shortgrass prairies. Space 12-14” apart. Very drought tolerant. Clump-forming, full to partial sun, medium-dry to dry soil.
