A giant amongst the prairie grasses, Big Bluestem can reach 7 feet in height! As a warm season grass, it grows actively during the summer when soil temps are warm. Big Bluestem can spread aggressively, so it may not be a first choice for small gardens. Along with beautiful fall color in golds and pinks, it provides habitat for many insects, small mammals & birds. Space 2-3’ apart, medium to dry soil, full to partial sun.
