(Amsonia tabernaemontana)

This perennial dies back in winter and emerges in early spring with periwinkle blue, star-shaped flowers appearing in late spring to early summer. A real beauty! Grows in full sun to part-shade, but will flower more profusely with more sun. An excellent plant for attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Mounding growth habit, will mature to 2- 3’ in height and width. Attractive foliage even when not in bloom. Medium to med-dry soil, moderately drought tolerant once established. Excellent as a specimen plant or in border or mass plantings.
