Eutrochium purpureum

If you’re looking for a shade-loving perennial, try Sweet Joe Pye Weed. Unlike its sun-loving cousin, Joe Pye Weed, this plant would be right at home in a shady woodland garden. The pale pink, sweetly scented flowers attract butterflies, including monarchs and swallowtails, as well as native bees. Plus it makes a lovely cut flower!

Native to eastern and central US, including Oklahoma, it matures at 3 to 7 feet in height and blooms late summer. Deer resistant. Prefers moist shade or part shade.
