Hypericum prolificum
This lovely little shrub grows 2-5’ high with a naturally rounded shape, and blooms in late summer with bright yellow flowers that attracts bees and butterflies. It tolerates drought, brief flooding, and a wide variety of soil conditions, and is deer and rabbit resistant. Older woody stems develop mahogany-colored peeling bark, giving winter interest in the landscape. Shrubby St. John’s Wort is native to central and eastern U.S., including eastern Oklahoma. Suitable for hedges, mass plantings, rain gardens, and rock gardens. Full to partial sun, medium to medium dry soil.
