A widely used culinary herb, with medicinal qualities as well. ‘Extrakta’ is a robust variety with a high essential oil content of 1.5 – 2%. Gray-green foliage makes a good base for dried floral wreaths. Small, edible, lavender flowers appear in late spring or early summer with a mild sage-like flavor. A quietly handsome plant in the landscape. Drought tolerant once established. Perennial. Grows to 2’ in height, and can spread to 2-3’ width over time. Perennial, full to partial sun.
