(Tithonia)

Eye-catching deep orange flowers bloom mid-summer thru fall and are a butterfly magnet. Nectar plant and habitat for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Tall, branching plant grows to 4-6’, so give it some room. Performs well in hot, dry climates. Native to Central America and Mexico. Tender annual, often self-seeds, full sun. A real winner!

Tithonia ‘Goldfinger’ – a bit more compact than standard Mexican Sunflower, reaching 3-4’ in height, with the same glorious display of flowers and pollinator appeal!

Tithonia ‘Fiesta del Sol’ – a dwarf Mexican Sunflower, reaching 2-3’ in height. When I grew this last year, it was a true dwarf, although some reviewers report that it got quite large for them. Providing an abundance of flowers, it’s a pollinator favorite.
