Salvia hispanica

A beautiful salvia that produces the highly nutritious chia seed! A member of the mint family, chia has been cultivated for nearly 5,000 years. Native to Mexico and Central America. Needs a long season to produce seed, so plant early. Annual in our climate; does not tolerate frost. Full sun, well-drained soil, 24-36” height.
