Salvia greggii

This small, mounding shrub is native to Texas, and notably heat and drought tolerant. Grows to about 2’ in height, with petite, waxy green leaves and deep pink (or white or red) blooms. Prune it back by a third in early spring if you want its growth to be more compact and less leggy. Summer blooming, attracts bees and hummingbirds, and is deer-resistant. Full sun, needs a well-draining soil.
